SkilletBrief Privacy Policy · Updated 2026-07-29

A short note on your data.

SkilletBrief does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and the app works entirely offline.

SkilletBrief is a cosy offline recipe companion — you browse short recipe briefs, cook along with a step timer, save favourites and build a market list. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.

I · Collection

Information we collect

None. SkilletBrief never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts or any other personal detail, and it has no sign-up or login of any kind. The optional cook name you can set inside the app is a label for your own screen — it is written to local storage and never leaves the device.

II · Storage

What lives on your device

For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:

None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.

III · Permissions

What the app asks for

Nothing. The Android manifest and the iOS Info.plist declare no runtime permissions at all. SkilletBrief cannot reach your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or any storage outside its own sandbox, because it never requests access to them.

IV · Network

What goes over the wire

Nothing goes over the wire. SkilletBrief contains no networking code — no HTTP client, no sockets, no cloud database, no backend of any kind. The entire recipe collection ships inside the app, so it behaves identically in airplane mode as it does on Wi-Fi.

V · Third parties

Who else is involved

No one. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising or attribution library, no crash reporter, and no in-app purchase or billing integration. The app depends only on Flutter itself and a local storage library (Hive) that writes to your device.

VI · Children

Younger readers

SkilletBrief is suitable for users of any age, including children under 13. Because it collects and transmits no data whatsoever, there is nothing for it to knowingly or unknowingly gather from a child. It also contains no advertising, no purchases, and no links out to unmoderated content.

VII · Your rights

What you can do

Everything the app knows about you already sits on your device, under your control. You can clear your market list from within the app at any time, and uninstalling SkilletBrief permanently deletes the local database along with every saved brief, cook log entry and setting. There is no server-side copy to request or erase, because none was ever made.

VIII · Revisions

Changes to this policy

If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
